* Built-in ATM public transit fare options

The Lleida Comerç Eix card is the first financial card from La Caixa featuring a contactless chip, allowing it to be loaded with ATM public transit fare options. Everyone who uses the card can charge the integrated fare options T-10, T-10/30 and T-50/30 at the Lleida ATM office or at any authorised recharging point for use on urban buses, interurban coaches and rail service of the Generalitat de Catalunya. Now over 100 municipalities in the regions of Les Garrigues, Pla d'Urgell, La Nogera, Segrià and Lleida Ciutat belong to the Lleida Area ATM.

The objective is to improve links between the municipalities of the region with the region’s main town, Tàrrega, as well as with Lleida and with medical centres to provide the region with better public transit bus service.

Three of the plan’s improvements are already underway

Furthermore, the government has already put three of the measures included in the new improvement plan for public transport in the region of Urgell into action. Specifically, the frequency of runs on three bus lines which connect different municipalities with Tàrrega will be increased in response to the transport needs detected in the area. The measures have reinforced links between the capital of the region and Balaguer, Artesa de Segra (via Agramunt) and Lleida (by way of Bellpuig).

The first time you charge your ID card to use it as a public transport fare card, you have to do it at the Servei d’Informació I Atenció Universitària (SIAU) of the UL or at the ATM Customer Service Centre.

In order to enjoy the 10% discount, you have to have previously charged your card using the debit chip in your card. This recharge can be done at the recharging stations that you'll find in all the libraries on campus or, if you have a 4B card, at any 4B automatic teller by selecting the option “Operacions Moneder”. The card cannot, however, be charged at the SIAU. If you would like to pay for your transport fare option, before charging money on your debit chip, please make sure that your card includes MIFARE contactless chip technology.

The Administrative Board of the Lleida Area ATM met today approved the incorporation of Urgell and Segarra to the ATM. Thus the 41 municipalities that form these comarques will benefit from the integrate payment system and the plan of improvement of services that has to begin during this year. By the incorporation of these comarques, la ATM of Lleida culminates its creation of the Area of Lleida, and from now on is formed by 6 comarques that include 149 municipalities and 352.000 inhabitants.

Apart from that, ATM has evaluated the improvements achieved during the year 2009 that have involved an increasing of 3.4% in public transport using.

The 3rd Bicycle Congress of Lleida-Catalonia 2010 will focus on infrastructures and legislature through a series of speakers and workshops devoted to these subjects over the days of the event. It will also include a bicycle ride through l'Horta de Lleida, an open, public ride through the city and various other public events and activities.

The Territorial Transport Authority will also attend the 3rd Bicycle Congress of Lleida 2010

Along with their certificate of attendance, participants in the congress will receive an ATM card charged with 20 journeys valid for use during the event anywhere in the integrated area of the ATM on any of its modes of transport: urban bus service in the city of Lleida, interurban services in the regions of Les Garrigues, La Noguera, Pla d’Urgell and El Segrià, and Catalan rail service between Lleida and Àger.

LONG-DISTANCE BUSES: The stop will be moved from its current location to the bus stop zone (see attached image) in Avinguda Príncep de Viana in front of the station (behind the taxi rank).

INTERURBAN BUSES: Regular interurban lines will continue to stop at Príncep de Viana 4 and Rambla Ferran 55 until the planned bus stop in front of the taxi rank is completed.

Nearly 25,000 people have taken advantage of the ATM card, with which they can travel throughout the participating Lleida Area with integrated transport fare options valid for use on the networks of urban buses, interurban coaches and the rail service of the Generalitat de Catalunya in the regions of Garrigues, La Noguera, Pla d’Urgell and Segrià using a single card.

1. The departure time of the Lleida-Pirineus train will change from 17.50 to 17.55.

2. Service will be increased with the addition of an outgoing and an incoming train departing Lleida at 10.35 and La Pobla de Segur at 16.00 over a period of 45 days, from 03/04/10 to 31/10/10.
